
Cuba Gooding, Jr. is best known for his Oscar-winning
portrayal of the charmingly arrogant professional
football player Rod Tidwell in JERRY MAGUIRE.
Starring opposite Tom Cruise in the Cameron Crowe-directed
film, he solidified his position as one of Hollywood’s
most talented actors. In addition to an Oscar,
Gooding was also honored with the Screen Actors
Guild Award, the Broadcasters Film Critics Award
and the Chicago Film Critics Award for this role.
Gooding can next be seen as
a rogue police officer Salim Adel in the gritty
independent film DIRTY, for which he is already
gaining critical acclaim. DIRTY opens in theaters
across the nation in February 2006. He will be
seen later this year opposite Helen Mirren and
Lee Daniels in SHADOWBOXER, whose cast also features
Macy Gray, Mo’Nique Imes-Jackson and Joseph
Gordon-Levitt. In 2006 he will also been seen
in the films WHAT LOVE IS and END GAME.
Through his career Gooding has
gained recognition in supporting roles in such
