LL Cool J is an icon in the music industry. With a career spanning 20 years, LL Cool J is also a successful actor, writer, entrepreneur, and one of the most well-known names in entertainment today.

After releasing his first hit, I Can't Live Without My Radio, in 1985 when he was just 17 years old, LL quickly developed his own unique style. His first two albums, Radio and Bigger and Deffer made him a star, but Mama Said Knock You Out established him as one of hip-hop's genuine superstars.

In addition to his music success, LL Cool J starred in his own television sitcom, In the House, and appeared in several films, including S.W.A.T. with Samuel L. Jackson and Colin Farrell, Last Holiday with Queen Latifah, Oliver Stone's Any Given Sunday and Deliver Us from Eva with Gabrielle Union. Also an accomplished author, his fitness book LL Cool J's Platinum Workout is currently on the New York Times best sellers' list.

LL Cool J, an acronym for Ladies Love Cool James, is a two-time Grammy Award winner, and an NAACP Image Award winner. He also received ASCAP's Golden Note Award and a Soul Train Lifetime Achievement Award, among other honors.

In addition to entertainment, LL also helped launch the hip-hop fashion line FUBU in the 1990s. And in late 2006, he launched a new clothing line called "Todd Smith," which is targeted to an affluent consumer, as well as a mid-priced clothing line called "T.S." Todd Smith is also the name of LL Cool J's current album, released in April, 2006. He will be releasing his next album, Exit 13, on March 6, 2007—the last on his record deal with Def Jam.
